SUMMARY:A Sense of Order – Solo Exhibition by Sam Weeks
DESCRIPTION:Birmingham-based abstract painter Sam Weeks returns to Malvern Library this August with A Sense of Order\, a solo exhibition bringing together two series of monochrome paintings made three years apart. \nHermetic Principles (2022–23) and the ongoing Dualities series (2026) are connected by a question that runs through Sam’s work: \nWhy do humans create frameworks for understanding the world and our place within it? \nThe exhibition marks a striking change from Sam’s colourful exhibition at Malvern Library last August\, presenting a very different side of her practice through paintings in black\, white and many shades of grey. \nA Sense of Order is free to visit and runs in the Book & Cup Café at Malvern Library until Saturday 29 August 2026. \nSam will also be at the exhibition for a Meet the Artist event on Saturday 15 August\, 1–4pm\, when visitors are warmly invited to come along\, see the paintings and chat with her about the work and the ideas behind it. \nMalvern Library is fully accessible\, with disabled parking on site and roadside parking nearby. \nFor opening hours\, see link: https://www.worcestershire.gov.uk/council-services/libraries/find-library/malvern-library
