FUNNYMAN Mark James is now a comic legend in Worcestershire and if you thought that you might be missing out during the panto season because of the pandemic… oh no you’re not!
So. Christmas is saved – thanks to the cheeky chappie who is set to bring his own show to Malvern following the devastating cancellation of the annual pantomime.
Malvern Theatres’ favourite panto comedian Mark returns to the Festival stage with his very own one-man show featuring comedy, magic and mayhem.
And that means this Christmas it will be possible to re-live those unforgettable moments with an hour of magic, mind-reading, plate-spinning and family panto silliness for everyone to enjoy.
Mark said: “Where’s me mates? I’m super excited to have been asked by the theatre to put on my one-man show A Magical Christmas Cracker after receiving the sad news that the panto had to cancel.
“I’m hoping to bring lots of laughter, magic and panto silliness to Malvern. The spirit of panto lives on this year and I am so touched by all the well wishes and messages from an audience looking forward to a fun-packed show.”
Mark is best known as Malvern’s regular panto funnyman. This year will be his fourth visit after playing Cinderella’s Buttons alongside Alison Hammond, Su Pollard’s side-kick Muddles in Snow White, and the loveable Wishee Washee in last year’s hit Aladdin alongside John Challis.
Mark was due to return as Smee in this year’s pantomime Peter Pan, which has been postponed until Christmas 2021 due to the pandemic.
A number of measures have been introduced in order to ensure the safest environment for theatre guests and staff. Tickets are allocated in socially distanced bubbles.
Hand sanitiser points will be provided and there will be a one-way system in place to ensure social distancing. People are asked to visit the website to read the complete safety guidelines.
